The following paper examines the real life of the Sundance Kid, Harry Longbaugh. Harry Longbaugh, the Sundance Kid "Harry Longbaugh (Sundance Kid)
was born in Colorado in 1870. Little is known of his early life but in the late 1880s he was involved in rustling in Sundance, Wyoming" (Sundance Kid, 2006). In
another account it is noted that he grew restless in the early 1880s and went to work for a ranch in Montana and then went to a ranch in Sundance,
Wyoming where he was found guilty of stealing a horse and equipment and sentenced to 18 months in prison (The Sundance Kid Kin Page, 2006). When he was released
he took the name of the Sundance Kid (The Sundance Kid Kin Page, 2006). From 1890 to 1892 his life appears as follows: "Sundance works breaking horses on the Bar
U Ranch near Calgary, Canada; he is recorded at the Bar U during the Canadian Dominion Census on April 6, 1891; he is arrested and immediately released for cruelty to
animals on August 7, 1891; he serves as the best man at his foreman Ebb Johnsons wedding; he saves the life of his good friend Fred Ings in a freak
blizzard during a cattle roundup; and he enters into a short business venture at the Grand Central Hotel Saloon in Calgary" (The Sundance Kid Kin Page, 2006). One
author notes that on June 27, 1897, Longbaugh joined up with Harvey Logan and robbed a bank at Belle Fourche in South Dakota (Sundance Kid, 2006). This author indicates that
