also proved incredibly successful because of the grandeur of the film, through money spent, and also through the use of a good story line with more than adequate actors and
actresses. One could perhaps find it very difficult to envision an equally successful production of this story being done on stage, where one could not see the grandeur of the
ship or the ocean, or the natural events. The following paper examines the film and then examines three challenges one could envision regarding putting this story on stage. However, with
enough economic resources and skilled artisans one could well find themselves, as a viewer, as immersed in a stage production of this story as they did with the film on
screen. The Titanic "With expenditure of around $200m...even industry insiders say cost was obscene" (BBC). There were many who argued that it was ridiculous to put so much
money into a film, a film that apparently has cost more than any other film in history (BBC). But, it was also a very big success in it recreation of
a historical event and also its creation of a fictional love story. In this film there is a woman, Rose, who is very wealthy and ultimately being forced to
marry a man who is less than likeable. She is a proper young lady and has troubles, at first, relating to Jack, a wanderer who is representative of the impoverished,
"a free-spirited artist who won his ticket from a lucky poker hand. The personification of living life to the fullest, Jack naturally becomes Roses true love and conduit for self-expression"
