seeking ones identity and path in life. The following paper examines the thesis of Collins work, focusing on how it can well be seen as a novel that illustrates how
it is important to fight against injustice in a society/political body. The Thesis of Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins Kitniss is a woman who has long been controlled by
the Capitol. She has been made to enter into the Hunger Games and she is now finished, or so she thinks. She does not wish to continue to support the
Capitols ideals and actively seeks to shut the Capitol down. However, she is often very uncertain about what she should do, and this causes a great deal of chaos for
her, and for the development of the thesis as the reader wonders if her involvement, whatever it may be, will be of any use. In the beginning she notes, "I
had already set something in motion that I had no ability to control" indicating that she had already immersed herself in the path of rebellion (Collins 6).
She is constantly confused by what she should do, considering she has ultimately been controlled by the Capitol for her entire life. This leaves the
reader wondering if her plans will ever succeed. For example, at one point she says "Something tells me that not taking advantage of the flood of refugees is a mistake...On
the other hand...then again, what do we gain by staying here" (Collins 332). She is confused as to what she should really be doing. And, the fact that she does
