Huckleberry Finn" is that of disguise and reality. It is a combative theme that often goes unnoticed by the reader, save for its obvious features as they involve the adventure
inherently involved in the idea of disguise. When we look close at this theme we can often see that through disguises Huck is finding his identity and learning about reality.
In putting on various disguises he not only gains an opportunity to see reality from a different perspective, but he also learns more about himself. In the following paper we
examine a few instances involving disguise and reality and discuss their intricate nature as they provide a possible theme within Twains classic story. Disguise and Reality In the very
beginning of Hucks story we are presented with a young man who is unsure of his place in the world. While he is clearly a soul that is untamed and
possessed of many anarchist qualities, he is also a young man who is willing to give other possibilities a try. As such we can readily note that as a young
man living in the house of Widow Douglass and Miss Watson he is somewhat in disguise as he looks to be a young man of breeding, but is honestly far
from such a cultured youth. This is a very symbolic disguise and one that establishes how Huck is searching for his identity through disguises. We note some of this in
the following excerpt: "She put me in them new clothes again, and I couldnt do nothing but sweat and sweat, and feel all cramped up. Well, then, the old thing
