their respective motivation toward life and love share some similar ground. Dads background was on a Midwestern farm where he and his brother spent many developmental years socially educating
themselves, inasmuch as their parents were not emotionally available. School was an escape for dad, who is now 65, because he was able to express himself unlike he could
at home. He was not much on reading other than sports-related publications, but he was a bit into sports. Dad did not cultivate many friendships - deep or
otherwise - because he had never learned to form lasting bonds. While he was not a loner, he did maintain a distance from other people. Dad did not
receive sexual instruction from his parents, who were quite tightlipped about most every aspect of growing up. His adolescence was filled with a combination of excitement and disappointment -
much the same as any adolescent - particularly because he was unwittingly without his parents emotional support. Trial and error helped him learn how a man was supposed to
behave. The jobs he chose were based upon a combination of fun and money. When he met my mom, he knew she was the one for him; he wooed
her until she crumbled. Having a family was at the forefront of both their minds at this time. While married, his friends were mostly a combination of male
work friends and married couples; now that he is divorced, he does not have anyone he would call his friend in the social sense of the word. The divorce
impacted his life in such a way that he felt even less of a man than while in the bad marriage. He would like to remarry, but he does
