how to tell her of her husbands death. Mrs. Mallard, however, is not completely devastated by the news, as they thought she would be. As one author illustrates, "The fourth
paragraphs content, which revolves around the period of time where Louise has just entered her room, is fairly surprising. Everyone would expect Louise to weep with agony and pain, but

in terms of standard social reactions, due to the fact that she is "comfortable." This allows us a glimpse into the womans spirit that says she is experiencing anything but
