the Spirit of Capitalism, and while it delves into actual religious thought and concepts about work, it also creates a paradigm for the world to follow. In effect, Webers ideas
had been adopted and integrated in society, so much so that Weber is applauded in sociology today. Still, many issues loom large in society and Webers work provides much clarity
of thought on concepts related to both labor and religion. According to a student writing on this subject, Max Weber sought to demonstrate an elective affinity between ascetic Protestantism
and the spirit of capitalism. That is, according to the sociologist, there is a relationship between the spirit of capitalism, and the ideas to emanate from Christianity. The work ethic
seems to be implicit in the design of the religion itself. It might be said that Weber looked at religion rather differently than most. He linked Protestantism with the spread
of capitalism and theorized that both the faith along with the economic system, had been fundamentally altered (Isaacson 395). Thus, Webers "spirit of Protestantism" references a new fundamentalism
(395). The "capitalist ethic" in respect to multinationals, for example, is not related to global capitalism as it is found in todays world (395). That phenomenon is by
and large foreign to the lives of most (395). What the author explains is the desire to maximize profit which lacks a moral core (395). Quite the contrary, Webers capitalism
is linked with a desire for those of the Protestant faith to fulfill their spiritual obligations through meaningful work. Protestantism is seen as the driving force behind the success of
