Hitler mesmerizing even today, even with the knowledge of all of the atrocities he perpetrated. Obama has a similar reputation for being compelling, and I found him more than compelling
in the inauguration speech, though I was able to take my eyes off of him several times. Both leaders give inspirational speeches
full of idealistic ideas about how to be good citizens. While Obamas focus in his Nobel Prize speech is human rights and the power of the individual to change the
world, Hitler spoke only in terms of the masses serving the nation-state. Of this, Hitler said, "Is not every ingenious deed in this
world the visible protest of genius against the inertia of the masses?" (Hitler-a). This is what he felt inside his heart, as if he had millions in the palm of
his hand. His lack of integrity should have indicated that he would commit suicide later on and not face the tribunals in payment for what the atrocities committed, but that
isnt what people focus on in a leader. The people worshipped him. This can probably be said of Obama, but on a
much smaller scale, and these are times after Adolf Hitler, when the warnings of hero worship are clear. People worshipped Hitler because, like Obama, he appeared to care deeply for
his country and the needs of the people. They were both under the same constraints when they made important speeches. In 1933,
Germany was reeling from economic devastating much like the world is reeling from it now. The German people had suffered huge financial losses and were operating under an economic recovery
