her cell phone and soon after, one can hear Angela say quietly, "I couldnt do it." Teen pregnancy is a serious social problem. It may be seen as a cluster
of problems that are attached to young people, such as sexually transmitted disease and drug abuse. Each of these teen issues is related in some way to education. In schools
around the nation there are programs and class curricula to address such issues. Obviously, the schools are not doing their job if there are still so many cases of unwanted
pregnancy. One organization released statistics and noted that for the first time in 15 years, the teen birth rate has increased. The rate rose from 40.5 births per 1,000 females
aged 15-19 in 2005 to 41.9 births per 1,000 in 2006--a 3 percent increase" ("National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy"). Teen pregnancy is a serious issue
in a nation that is divided on the subject. While abortion is one alterative, the nation is divided ideologically. Abortion is for example an important political issue. There are people
