recent revelations that mistakes were made by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), such as a report published in 2007 where a speculative claim, presented as factual hypothesis, that
the Himalaya Glaciers would be fully melted by 2035, as well as other reports using non peer reviewed literature (The Independent, 2010), all lend credibility to the arguments that the
claims regarding global warming are at best over stated, or at worse totally wrong. With these events it is worth looking at the skeptics to asses if there is a
valid case to question global warming. The first argument put forward by skeptics concerns potential errors in data that has been collected to support the arguments for global warming
taking place. There are a number of approaches adopted by scientists to assess global warming. The way temperatures are measured has come under question, there are a number of issues
that can have an impact on measurements and skew the results that are collected, some of these are widely accepted as potential influences. The urban heat island effect
is an effect that will skew results, it is known that cities are often hotter that the rural areas (Kalnay and Cai, 2005). The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has
estimated that this difference can be as much as 10 degrees Fahrenheit, but the difference may be only a few degrees (EPA, 2010). This will impact the way that measurements
