disasters in all of history. The unsinkable ship that now rests at the bottom of the ocean has been the stuff of legend, inspiration, and fascination ever since 1912.
This paragraph aids the student in giving a brief summary of the Titanics disastrous voyage. The RMS Titanic was a steam ship, the
largest ever built at the time of its creation, and was owned by the White Star Line ("Titanic", 2010). Her course would take her from Southampton, England into the port
of New York City but the ship never made it. On the night of April 14, 1912 the ship struck an iceberg. White Star Line had claimed that the Titanic
was "unsinkable", an engineering marvel unsurpassed by anything at the time and a true technological masterpiece ("Titanic", 2010). Nevertheless, well over 1,500 people lost their lives on that masterpiece ("Titanic",
2010). The Titanic was a luxury liner intended to be the largest and most opulent of its kind. The ship featured several
amazing amenities that seem grandiose even today. Sporting a Turkish bath, a squash court, not to mention the latest innovations such as electric elevators, the Titanic was well suited for
