have birthed their son. The facts of the case involve a frantic call to the police that Laci Peterson was missing, but as the trial unfolded, it is learned that
perhaps her husband Scott waited too long to call police, slipped in terms of verbiage and thus communicated that indeed his wife was dead. That said, nothing clear, or cut
and dried, was aligned with this case. His behavior during the time that Laci was missing was deemed as uncharacteristic of a man whose pregnant wife was missing. Further, it
was soon learned that Scott was having an affair, and this is something that for the prosecution sealed the case in terms of motive. The idea was that Scott did
not want to go on with his marriage nor did he want to be a father, and so he killed his pregnant wife. After that, he took her body onto
a boat in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve, pushed it overboard and tied her limbs down with cinder blocks. The evidence in the case was mostly circumstantial,
but some forensic evidence helped to get the conviction. Scott Peterson does have some supporters, but by and large, he has been deemed guilty by media as well as by
a jury of his peers. Assuming that he did murder Laci, and dumped her body in the river, the big question is, why? II. An Analysis
of the Crime There is one theory "that the pressure of impending fatherhood began to unravel Petersons psyche" (Ablow, 2005, p. 1). Ablow of course thoroughly analyzes the personality of
