this group of economic controller has given its word to improve things, rather than bear any resemblance to days gone by. It can readily be argued that this activity
is precisely what challenges the very essence of nationalism. "Rarely in history has so much wealth--both real and potential--fallen into so few hands so quickly. This elite crew
of bankers and businessmen, the new owners of Russias energy, mineral and media companies, inevitably have come to be known as the oligarchs" (Powell, 1997, 30). As of recently,
one of the five members announced that fifty percent of the entire Russian economy was singularly controlled by him and six other bankers. It can be argued that such
a figure is significantly embellished; however, the truth of the matter is that the vast majority of Russias economy is manipulated by a select few. While it would seem nothing
but a positive concept for post-Communist Russia to be out of the social barriers that confined them for so long; it also serves as a double-edged sword. People have
been so used to being under the very control they wanted to shed, yet at the same time, they have also been quite helpless to some extent without the constant
