to continue with the work. The following paper examines what role work plays in our social and economic lives by presenting 5 different questions and hypothetical, first person, answers relating
to working as a retail manager. Questions and Answers How does this job make you feel about yourself? Generally I can find some very positive personal reinforcements in
my work as a retail manager. It is, by no means, what I wanted to do when I was younger, but often I find myself feeling I have accomplished a
great deal, made some customers happy, and thus I usually feel good about myself in this job. At the same time, because this is not what I want to
do with my entire life, I find that I can be quite disgruntled at times and unhappy with where I am at the moment. I want more from my job
I think, and there are times when I feel very stagnant which does not make me feel good about myself, but rather makes me feel frustrated with my life.
Does this job provide you with sufficient income and the opportunity for advancement? As a retail manager I have almost reached the highest point for economic growth and advancement.
