All religion in each individual country has some effect on the culture of that country. The extent of that effect rests with the nature and focus of each individual
religion. ISLAM VERSUS CHRISTIAN The culture of the United States is primarily a western culture which has been largely based on the British culture. It has, however, been influences
from cultures from other parts of Europe, the Native American people, the African Americans and to some minor extent by the Asian Americans and other smaller groups of immigrants.
The culture of the United States is fairly young in comparison to that of many other nations. The country itself is only a few hundred years old. The United
States was founded on the principle of religious freedom and as many immigrants came to begin new lives here, they brought with them their cultural traits, many of which are
based on their religion. In contrast, since the beginning of recorded time and perhaps even before, Egypt has been a center for religious thought and in turn, cultural development centered
on religious thought. In the very beginning in Egypt, the religion of the Pharaohs was exalted and defended by the priests of Egypt against all outside invaders time and
time again (Cairo, 2006). During the Christina era, the bishops of Alexandria were always guarding against heresy and the institution of monasticism owes much to the contributions of Egypt (Cairo,
2006). Islam became the dominate religion in Egypt in the 7th century and remains one of the oldest and most respected areas which is influenced by the Islamic religion (Cairo,
