The following paper examines the life and achievements of Saddam Hussein, illustrating where he came from, how he rose to power, and where he is today. The paper first provides a literature review of information that pertains to the life and rise to power of Saddam Hussein. The paper then analyzes the information presented. In the end the paper comes to the conclusion that Saddam Hussein was a very power hungry individual who would stop at nothing, not even at killing babies or friends, in order to remain in power and gain as much power as he possibly could. Such a person was and is feared to such an extent that there is really no possibility for the people to fight back unless assisted by outside forces. Literature Review The material used in this particular section of this essay covers many different aspects of Saddams rise to power, his life, and his various levels of involvement. Through seeking sources from a variety of places, and time periods, we can expect to get a more general and objective look at the man. If the only sources used, for example, were from United States publications with right wing approaches we would not get a broad and unbiased look at the man and his rise to power. Through various sources, however, we can find more details and more perspectives that provide a more realistic view of Saddam Hussein.
