inequality in public education in South Jersey. Certain towns and counties have better quality schools because they are situated in wealthier neighborhoods. Race plays an important part in
this investigation as it is no surprise that the neighborhoods which are predominately composed of minority groups have the worst schools and the white neighborhoods have the best schools.
Poor quality education is highly correlated with poverty and racism as well as a lack of qualified educators. Another problem is that many
good educators do not want to go into neighborhoods with problems. With poverty, social problems do exist and the job of being a teacher becomes that much more difficult.
