the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Others claim that this is ludicrous and do not understand why the Arab world is angry at the United States. In any case,
no matter what the United States has done politically, there is no need for war. An article appearing in The Wilson Quarterly sheds light on this very subject. In the
article, it is explained that the attack on 9/11 occurred due directly to American actions and alliances ("Americas pro-Arab," 2003). The author goes on to say that policies have actually
been pro-Muslim for some years ("Americas pro-Arab," 2003). Yet, there had been a shift and a pro-Isreali stance that would anger the Arab population. The suggestion that the U.S. policies
are actually designed to favor Arabs might be surprising to some. After all, why would they attack the United States if that is the case? Would the support of Israel
really be that significant? The literature explains that historically, the U.S. has sided with Arabs in every case, with the exception of conflicts with Israel ("Americas pro-Arab," 2003). When it
comes to Israel, there has been much U.S. support. Obviously, that is also anti-Arab. Hence, although the United States has by and large supported Arabs, it has not done
so in every case. The question as to whether or not the dismissal of Arab interests in favor of the Israelis is enough to create conflict is somewhat na?ve.
Of course, it is. The conflict between the Palestinians and Israel is extremely heated and controversial. However, the article suggests that the anti-Americanism is simply a distraction and the terrorist
