purpose in life, but few stop to think about the worlds purpose and what it has to do with man, if anything. Many just see the world as something that came about after the big bang. Yet, the idea that the world does have a purpose is rather curious. Also, according to Immanuel Kant, the worlds purpose has everything to do with man. Kant argues that only man as a moral being can be thought of as the final purpose of the existence of a world. The concept of purpose is important. Why is anyone here if there is no purpose to their existence? People do like to think that there is purpose, but whether or not that is the case may never be known. Of course, according to Kant, there most certainly is a purpose to the world. Another point is that a priori knowledge is something that seems to be related to purpose and what Kant addresses in his Critique of Pure Reason and within it are the judgments that are made by man. Related to the concept is the idea that people make judgments all the time of what is right or wrong, or what is beautiful. However, how can one make such judgments without purpose? Why is something wrong? If there is no purpose to life no one would care. It is for those reasons that purpose is obvious. There must be a purpose or the a priori judgments would be meaningless. They simply would not be required. Kant seems to explain this quite readily and that is with a priori experience. He explains that the judgment of taste rests on a priori grounds (Kant 484).
