An amateur or developing manager of a software company will encounter positive and negative experiences just as any manager in a firm. Management
savvy is something that comes with experience and even experienced managers sometimes have difficulty in their jobs. The pool of employees change and management changes as well. What a
company had been in the past may be very different today as the rest of the world changes. For example, management in the 1950s was autocratic. One can witness examples
of this by watching sitcoms from the era. It was not until Mary Tyler Moore threw her hat in the air during the 1970s that things would change in
the workplace, for women and otherwise. Today, the new manager faces a myriad of difficulties from integrating a management style and paradigm to
implementing rules and regulations within a staff, as each employee possesses distinct personalities. Managers have their work cut out for them in todays world where litigation in terms of work
is commonplace and there is a new sense of worker entitlement. This creates work places that try to embrace more democratic forms of management. In many ways this is a
