NUMBER of potential causative factors when relating the pathiophysiology of the disease. Introduction Alzheimers disease is one of the more problematic conditions facing the elderly in the modern era.
Once perceived as a disease found only in small clusters, recent research and increasing numbers suggests that both genetic and environmental factors are playing a role in the onset
of the disease. A variety of causative factors have been at the center of recent studies, including assessments of substance deficiencies and genetic factors. Assessing risk factors,
as well as genetic and environmental variants have led to some generalized conclusions regarding the onset of Alzheimers and subsequently influenced assessments of forms of dementia in general. In
relating the findings in the current literature, it is valuable to recognize that varied causative factors that have been central to studies on the increasing prevalence of Alzheimers disease.
Background Alzheimers disease typically results in the slow loss of memory, personality, and eventually all cognitive function (Lemonick and Park-Mankato, 2001).
Scientists now accept the fact that some individuals have a greater chance of being impacted by Alzheimers disease than others. Those who have a history of the disease in
their families have a certain genetic risk while those who have suffered from either a stroke or a head injury at some point in their past see their chances increased
as well (Lemonick and Park-Mankato, 2001). Causative Factors While the specifics of the causes of the disease still being studied,
