exist? All of these seemingly important questions are often answered by philosophers, but of course this is true only to some extent. In the realm of philosophy, there is usually
an opposite perspective and so, no question is really ever resolved. To an extent, Aristotle and Plato agree on some things, but there are differences between the two which are
quite significant. Some suggest that one philosopher borrows from the other and builds on his success. Heidegger contends that Aristotle "brings to fruition and radicalizes the thought of Plato..." (Brogan,
1997, p. 3). However, there are stark differences between the two when examining epistemology. When evaluating Aristotle and Platos ideas about knowledge, it pays to look at the theory of
forms. The concepts of form and matter are significant in respect to both Plato and Aristotles ideas on metaphysics (Honderich, 1995). In this arena, the primary difference between Plato and
Aristotles ideas is that Aristotle saw one world, or one reality, whereas Plato suggested that this is not the case. In fact, there are many truths. One can agree that
the primary difference that exists between the two theorists is vast, even though they do not disagree on every point. The idea that there is just one objective right way
of doing things and on the other hand, there are many truths, is an enormous difference. Hence, Platos view would have trouble with certainty. Although Plato and Aristotle agreed on
certain things, they had completely different takes in terms of the subject of forms. While Plato held a dual realms theory, Aristotle saw form and matter as existing in
