The predominant world view that terroristic acts are simply unacceptable is not shared by radical Palestinian Islamics who see terrorism as a needed
component and acceptable component of their quest for freedom. This view has resulted, in fact, in the unfortunate world view that the word "Islamic", unlike any terms associated with
any other culture in the world, has come to be almost synonymous with the word terrorism. After all, the primary goal of the radical Palestinians is the eradication of
Israel and they see terroristic acts as an integral component of this eradication. The view that terrorism is an acceptable means of achieving
Palestinian independence is somewhat more understandable when we realize the full implication of the societal conditions within which radical Palestine exists and the ideologies which surround those conditions. The
issues broiling in Palestine are ones which spawn severely separated viewpoints. While many condemn the actions of the Palestinians, for example, others perceive Palestinians as being justified in the
actions they have taken to rid the region of Israel and its Jewish inhabitants. Those who take this stance insist that Palestine, after all, dates back to Biblical times.
These Palestinian proponents declare that the Jews who insist on the creation of Israel really have no more standing in this region than immigrants.
The quest for peace in the Middle East has been the focus of world attention for generations. From a Palestinian perspective, however, this goal is
