more information on using this paper properly! Society is a complex organism. It is at once a large, multifaceted group that is its own entity in a sense. After
all, we tend to prescribe certain qualities and judgments to society as a whole. We might say that society feels one way or another, or that certain societies are more
prone to certain kinds of likes and dislikes than others. What we must always be careful to remember, however, is that society is, at the fundamental level, composed of individual
human beings, each of whom have unique needs and problems that must be addressed. The importance of this can be explained by envisioning society as a giant machine, with each
individual making up one small part of the machine. In order for the machine to run smoothly and effectively, all of the parts must be in good working order. If
any one individual is suffering, then society as a whole suffers in a very real and tangible way. This is why the work performed by social workers is so critical.
By interacting with and offering therapeutic solutions to individuals who are having difficulties integrating with society, social workers are actively pushing to make society a more healthy and integrated place.
This paper will provide an overview of the history of the social work profession, with an emphasis on how it relates to the treatment of soldiers with post traumatic stress
