The concept of euthanasia, prematurely ending anothers life or choosing to end ones own life in the name of compassion seems to never quite
leave the headlines in modern times. In Europe, Australia, and elsewhere there have been various bills introduced recently to make euthanasia legal. Various interest groups all over the
world are petitioning to make euthanasia legal. To date, that has yet to occur in the majority of the world or even in a significant percentage of it.
Euthanasia is regarded by most as being morally wrong. The intent of this paper is to point out that there are many considerations to make when considering the morality
of euthanasia. In some cases, in fact, euthanasia would be the more humane option. Euthanasia is often referred to as mercy killing
or physician-assisted suicide. There are two types of euthanasia. These are active euthanasia and passive euthanasia. In active euthanasia an individual is given a drug or more
radical measures taken to end their lives. In passive euthanasia medical equipment is removed or never installed, food and water withheld, or treatment withheld to allow the patient to
