better in all cases, and it seems that everyone has a different story to tell or a different philosophy to present. In David Goodmans book "Fault Lines: Journeys into the
New South Africa" we are offered an intriguing look at South Africa today through the lens of several people who lived through the tumultuous times. Each individuals story has something
different to illustrate. And, in George Bizos "No One to Blame: In pursuit of justice in South Africa" we have another perspective, one that predominantly focuses on the legal struggles
for amnesty, while essentially using the death of Steve Biko as the foundation from which all thought and argument and investigation arises. As we can readily see, even without
a detailed understanding of the books, there are many perspectives one can take when discussing such controversial and complex matters as seen in the recent history of South Africa. Bearing
that in mind the following paper first presents an assessment of David Goodmans book and then does the same for George Bizos book. The paper then presents a discussion and
comparison of the two works, illustrating what one can learn of South Africa through having two different sources of information, or two perspectives of the conditions. And, in this discussion
of Goodmans, as well as Bizos, book we will focus on what we see to be the facts in regards to the struggles and lives of the South Africans during
