condolences from the largest assembled group of international dignitaries that the world has seen amassed since the 1995 death of Yitzhak Rabin (Harman 1). Among the crowd were kings,
princes, and presidents, a montage of heads of state that together represented a collective total of 75 countries, not all of whom could boast being on the best of terms
with their host country. The throng of dignitaries had gathered in Jordan, a small Middle East country bordered by Israel, Egypt, Iraq, Syria and Saudi Arabia, to pay respect
to the man that for almost half a century had led the Arab world in its quest for peace. This man, King Hussein, ruler of Jordan for 47 years,
had been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in the moderation of the explosive conflicts that have plagued the Arab nations of the Middle East for the
past century (US Newswire PG). Amid the sounds of bugles trumpeting the Last Post and the roar of Jordanian Air Force jets executing parting salutes, this great diplomatic moderator
had gone to Allah, leaving the completion of his plans of peace to a surprise successor, his 37-year-old son, Abdullah (Harman 1). This shift in succession, a succession previously
