can act morally, ethically and with a social conscience. The establishment of a governmental infrastructure that lays the groundwork from which individuals can achieve their personal goals and manifest
their ideals is imperative to this process. My political platform is based on creating equity for all citizens. Access to voting, access to political power, access to services, should
be equal to all people. Some basic human rights that have been ignored in the past, including the right to adequate health care and the right to access to
food and shelter, are supported by this platform and by the government infrastructure. In order for this to work, though, personal and collective accountability come into play. This government
is based on the assertion that each individual contribute to the government to the best of their ability. This means more than just paying taxes; individual accountability suggests that
each person must have a vested interest in the government and must make the choice to participate. As a result, this government will focus on a move towards the
old town hall meetings of the past, supporting the involvement of the community in many different aspects of government. In order to support this kind of change, my advisors
must include some of the significant figures who have been involved in efforts that support personal accountability. Former President Jimmy Carter, for example, is a figure who has turned
from the political limelight to individuals efforts to "make a difference." Carters vision of a world with great collective responsibility and compassion makes him an inspiration for modern leaders.
