the most effective model of economic development, but with recent events, such as the credit crunch, and other economic failures, which may be argued as bring neo-liberalist polices, the ideal
of the neo-liberalist state needs to be questioned, especially if this is a model that is promoted by international bodies such as the World Bank ands the IMF when helping
developing countries. In the context of globalization and the increasing level of interdependence of nation state economies the future of neo-liberal states and the role that neo-liberal polices will play
in developing states needs to be considered. The concept of the neo-liberal state is relatively easy to define; the policy should favor private ownership of private property rights, the
rule of law and free trade policies (Harvey, 2005). These policies should be perceived in the context of the institution arrangements which are present within a state economy. The
idea is that the framework should be one of renegotiate contracts undertaken between judicial individuals, with the rights of the individual and the choices they make in which contracts entered
