shown on television, even in the form of cartoons, is harmful for children. The studies show that children are more likely to be aggressive after watching television. The violence, coupled
with the fact that television is a passive activity, seems to bring out the worst in young people. Television is also a wasteland. Watching television is a waste of time.
Simply, people could be doing something more productive. Children should be learning, using their bodies by playing outside, and engaging in more desirable behaviors. Television is not simulating or interactive.
It is simply wasteful. Finally, studies have shown that television viewing and obesity are related. With childhood obesity on the rise, children should not sit in front of the television
for hours at a time. Television is replete with violence. Many shows contain police work with criminals, and even those that do not, often have violent
content. Even if guns are not involved, people are often emotional and get into heated arguments. Aggression has been associated with this type of viewing. Because the world is becoming
increasing more violent, it behooves parents to restrict violent content. It is difficult to find shows that promote peace and love. Even cartoons include many violent or negative acts. Cartoon
characters are killed all the time, only to return immediately without explanation. And while it may be the case that some good shows are made for children, even Fairy Tales
are very violent and frightening. Thus, for the most part, the available content designed for children of preschool age and higher are quite derogatory. This on some level desensitizes children
to violence, and therefore, prompts violence and aggression in society. Television does nothing to stimulate the brain and may be equated with wasted time. It may be true that
