in the field of psychology and follow a particular developmental track. Without going through the various developmental stages, and writing in terms of what children need in general, the
basic needs of he human beings are for food, shelter and clothing. Arguably, the human begin can live without permanent shelter and clothing may be optional in very warm climates.
In fact, babies and small children do not like to wear clothing. Of course, the basic need of these three generalized human needs is food, and of course water. Human
beings need food and water to live. When a baby is born, he or she has a natural suckling instinct which allows the newborn to drink. They are not yet
ready for solid foods, but through drinking breast milk or formula, they are able to nurture their bodies and grow. The infant grows at a rather rapid rate until they
are walking and by that time, their need for solid food is usually met. Yet, many theorists claim that without love, and the nurturing that goes with it, the children
will not thrive. This in fact is something that had been proven with experiments, such as the one that involved monkeys and a preference of being fed by a terry
cloth "mother." This well known experiment demonstrates that monkeys preferred a more nurturing feeding method. Food alone will not fill all of a childs needs. The lack of
