By examining a number of myths, Berkun (2007) is able to convey methods of being innovative. At least, some reviewers claim that the work is inspirational. In a hypothetical situation
submitted by a student, a firm wants employees to all read the same book, and wonders if The Myths of Innovation is a good choice. Whether or not this book
is appropriate for the organization should be a goal of this endeavor. After three different reviews are summarized, recommendations will be made in respect to the value of this work.
II. Book Review by Jem Matzan In a book review in The Jem Report, Matzan (2008) reviews the book and provides both positive and negative comments. Matzan
(2008) criticizes the overuse of footnotes but also claims that it is easy to follow and digest. While the content is viewed as less important than the fact that the
work is inspirational, Matzan (2008) does also provide the reasons why the book is relevant. Yet, the reviewer does not focus on content. Rather, he explains that this book is
suitable and inspirational for anyone, even for those who are not in the field (Matazan, 2008). The book tells the reader about the processes used by several investors, something
that might be used as inspiration (Matazan, 2008). The gist of this review, aside from criticizing grammar and punctuation, focuses on the fact that while content may not be of
good quality, this is a good read anyway. That is, through a look at a number of different inventors, one may be more inclined to be inspired. III. Review
