ever got really hot. But, for the little girl it was hot and sunny and was a day that called for playing with Barbies and a garden hose. The little
girl, Elisa, was 8 and called her friend to come play. They donned their bathing suits, smelling of that type of rubber only swimsuits possess, and sat in the grass
to play with Barbies. The normal pretend play of Barbies soon become boring and Elisa and Carol decided that it would be really funny to make their Barbies fly
through the hose water. The water was cool and splashed everywhere in the grass that felt slick and magical, as only wet grass can feel. Eventually the girls become
almost hysterical with the throwing of Barbies. Some of the Barbies heads came flying off the girls became so rambunctious. And, yet they laughed and laughed and laughed thinking what,
they were not sure. But they were certain that these flying Barbies were certainly more fun than the dress up Barbies. This game went on all afternoon in the
fenced in backyard of this suburban home. Finally came the time for Carol to go home and the day saw its end. It had been one of those days that
Elisa carried with her always, always feeling and smelling and tasting the day. The garden hose water, which tastes like no other water, was as pure and fresh as only
a child can imagine. The smell of rubber Barbie dolls and swimsuits. The feel of the grass that almost left a taste in ones mouth. And, the vision of flying
Barbies was certainly not a memory that Elisa would ever forget. It was a wondrous day that defines the simplicity of childhood and the wild abandonment of laughter and downright
