(Allaboutmormons.com, 2006). The Mormon church is the fourth largest in the United States with approximately 5.5 million members; this figure is about equal to the number of Muslims in the
U.S. (Allaboutmormons.com, 2006). There are three million Mormons in South America, 1 million in each Asia and Mexico, and half-a-million in each Europe and Central America (Allaboutmormons.com, 2005). Only about
12 percent of the U.S. population is Mormon but over 71 percent of the people in the State of Utah are Mormon (Allaboutmormons.com, 2006). Interestingly, only 70 percent of Mormons
were actually born into the faith (Allaboutmormons.com, 2006). Further, more than half of Mormons worldwide are not Caucasian (Allaboutmormons.com, 2006). This is one of the fastest growing religions in the
world with membership increasing ten-fold in the last 50 years (Allaboutmormons.com, 2006). And, for the last 15 years, an average of 800 people have joined the church every day (Allaboutmormons.com,
2006). The structure of the church is quite different from other religions. A branch is a like a small parish with fewer than 200 members; a ward is like a
parish or congregation that has between 300 and 600 members, a stake encompasses between five and twelve wards and totals at least 3,000 people, a district is an ecclesiastical unit
