Essay / Research Paper Abstract
An 8 page paper discussing the Mediterranean diet, comparing an American individual’s one-day food intake and assessing the benefits that might be possible from changing to such a diet. The Mediterranean Sea is ringed by countries of diverse cultures – Italy and Egypt, as example – but the basic components of Mediterranean countries’ typical diets are similar. They are based on whole grains and vegetables; few dairy products; extremely small amounts of red meat; and their primary fat sources are plant-based and so contain no cholesterol. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
