or not. We do not often stop to think of what it is that makes them great, and as such we rarely sit back and examine what it is that
makes greatness, what greatness means, and how a particular person embodies the traits of greatness. One of the most influential people in the past century was Marie Curie, a woman
who people often imagine as being great. The following paper examines her life and her struggles, illustrating just what it is that made her a woman who embodied greatness.
Greatness First and foremost it seems that in order to possess greatness an individual must do, or have done, something great for humanity as a whole. This could be
anything from changing laws to allow more freedom to more people, or helping bring peace to a wartorn area, or inventing a new cure for some disease. There are many
subtler actions that can make and individual great as well. A persons ideals and their passion for the human race can make them great, such as the case with Ghandi.
They can be selfless individuals, which they seem to be for the most part, or they can be very gregarious and even perhaps egotistical. In essence, it seems that we,
as a whole, do not necessarily have to like an individual to admit that they were great in one way or another. The point seems to be that those who
were or are great, are people who did something for the whole of mankind, making the world and societies a better place to live. In this respect it seems that
