The concept of "faith" seems to present difficulties to those that are attempting to understand it. Our hurried and hectic world frowns on anything that is not the
basis of hard scientific fact. Faith, however, continues to be a component of many of our lives. It is, in fact, the basis of Christian belief. Even
for Christians, however, the concept of faith stands in sharp contrast to the way we typically view most components of our modern world. In most aspects of our life
we require proof for the things we believe. To be a Christian, however, we must blindly accept Christ as our savior and believe in the guidance that has been
provided to us in our Holy Scripture, the Bible. Faith is a reflection of our trust in the validity of this guidance. This faith is our strongest attribute.
Despite the fact that there are few incontestable sources to document the specifics of the development, our faith tells us that Christianity
was initiated with the birth of Jesus Christ, the son of God and the virgin Mary, in the holy city of Jerusalem. Relatively little in terms of
documentable fact, however, is known about the early history of Christianity. We look, of course, primarily to the Bible to document Christianity. One of the most important additions
to the Old Testament in the Christian Bible is the book of Matthew. Matthew tells the story of the most important figure in Christianity, Jesus Christ, the son of
God. The Bible and other historical documents reveal little, however, about the early life of Jesus Christ. We do know that he was the son of a carpenter
