early lifecycle stage for the adoption of green policies and strategies. There are many different influences which may impact on the behaviour of parties whether they are individual consumers, corporations,
organizations of governmental departments. These may emerge as a result of general pressures that result fro direct and indirect influences. Increased awareness in the global media has had an impact,
but for firms and other organization to adopt green policies there needs to be some type of benefit that is aligned with their organizational goals; for example, firm may need
to consider costs and profitability and government will consider political and economic issues. There are a number of models of change which look at how change may be adopted
by organizations. A common agreement is the requirement that a prerequisite for change will be the recognition of the need to change and a benefit to that change. Lewin (1953)
argued that change will only occur when the pressures for change are greater than the resistance to change. Therefore, for change to occur there needs to be sufficient lure, or
pull factors, as well as push factors assuming the change in not a regulatory change, to overcome resistances such as the need for new equipment, manufacturing techniques and goods as
well as general behavioural patterns. There are a number of tools or frameworks which may be used to assess influences and pressures for change and the way they
may influence and converge to influence an industry, economy or country. Porter has several models which may be used. In this paper two models will be considered and applied to
