was populated by a highly advanced civilization whose members flourished in agriculture, trade, and the arts. Skilled local architects used native stone and precious metals to construct magnificent structures
that housed academies, libraries, and temples. Masters of the art constructed ornate sailing vessels so that the Atlanteans could spread their knowledge and good fortune beyond the boundaries of
their island. The fruits of controlled agriculture were bountiful, trade was productive, and all was well with the ancient world. But alas, as generations forged on, the Atlanteans traded
their honor and values for greed and lust. As their morals decayed, their conceit grew. Soon they used their great ships to sail missions of conquest and worship
of the great Atlantean Empire was required of the whole of the known world. According to Greek legend, these actions angered Poseidon, the great god of the sea and
the father of Atlantis. Poseidons great anger erupted from the center of the circular island, bringing with it massive 2 earthquakes and a deluge of floods. In the
space of one day and one night, Poseidon reclaimed his kingdom and buried it forever beneath the waves of the sea. Although not all are wrapped in the romance of
Greek mythology, several civilizations in the history of the world have suffered the same fate, that of eradication and extinction, as Atlantis. Three of these civilizations, the Minoan, the
Roman Empire, and the Cherokee Nation, have suffered that fate much for the same reasons. In the early 1900s, archaeologists found the remnants
