from descriptive, interpretative and evaluative points of view. Discussion What this essay does is to describe the play; interpret it; and evaluate it. The story is essentially a "comic variation
of the story of Faust" (Playhouse Square Center 2005). The story takes place in a florists shop run by Mr. Mushnik with help from the nerdy Seymour Krelbourn (Playhouse Square
Center 2005). Seymour is in love with Audrey, who has a brutal boyfriend, a dentist named Orin; Audrey is beginning to question her relationship with this creep at the same
time that she begins to appreciate Seymour (Playhouse Square Center 2005). Meantime, Seymour brings a plant he bought into the shop to take care of it; he names it "Audrey
II" after the girl he loves (Playhouse Square Center 2005). Audrey II begins to grow and attracts new business to the shop, which was about to close; unfortunately, Seymour
also finds out that Audrey IIs diet consists of human blood (Playhouse Square Center 2005). Seymour feeds Audrey II with his own blood, but he is "gradually growing weaker and
weaker as the plants appetite increases. In exchange for fresh blood, Audrey II says it will grant Seymour his hearts desire" (Playhouse Square Center 2005). Seymour, of course, wants Audrey
and one day when Orin ODs on the laughing gas he uses to get high, Seymour feeds him to Audrey II (Playhouse Square Center 2005). By this point, Audrey
II is out of control. Mushnik begins to suspect that the plant (which by now is at least eight feet tall) is a cannibal, and he becomes its next victim
(Playhouse Square Center 2005). Next Audrey wanders into the shop and into Audrey IIs clutches; Seymour rescues her but its too late-she dies (Playhouse Square Center 2005). Then things get
