hero at all, but rather one man who suffered a great injury and then set out to try to improve his condition and thereby improve the conditions for others who
suffered from spinal cord injuries. The following paper first examines Christopher Reeves as a Sisyphean hero, and then examines what his life meant as analyzed through the work of Robert
Nozick, "Life, Death and Meaning." Christopher Reeves: Sisyphean Hero A Sisyphean hero is essentially a hero who struggles on and on and never seems to achieve what they
desire. They are something of the underdog hero. They are perhaps individuals who never give up, but yet never reach any level of success either. In relationship to Christopher Reeves,
and his own ideals, it is easily argued that he was a Sisyphean hero. Christopher Reeves was a very physical man, a man who loved physical activity and who may
well have been the type of person, prior to the horse riding accident, who would have preferred to die rather than live a life without mobility. He was, it seems,
quite proud of his physical abilities and thus the accident left with virtually nothing as he could move almost nothing in his body. Many may argue that he did make
some powerful gains through determination. They can argue that he was able to finally begin moving his head unassisted and this was proof that he was not a Sisyphean hero
