and just go about their jobs. Often, they receive little attention. Some get into management while others are graphic artists or designers for the long haul. Some quit and open delis, but some shine. Milton Glaser is one such talented and well known New York graphic artist who became a legend. Milton Glaser was born in 1929 and is well known for his Bobby Dylan poster as well as the I Love NY logo ("Milton Glaser," 2005). The latter features a heart instead of the world Love and is quite recognizable. From there, many design spin-offs have been created. While a great accomplishment all by itself, Milton Glaser did many other significant things within the field as well. Glaser was born in New York City, and seemingly has not strayed far from there. He would go to school there and work there for the duration. Yet, he did glean a small part of his education from Bologna, Italy (Abercrombie & Glaser, 1997). Earlier, Milton attended New York citys High School of Music and Art and then went to Cooper Union where he graduated in 1951 ("Milton Glaser," 2005). Later, he would teach at both Cooper Union and the School of Visual Arts ("Milton Glaser," 2005). He would for the most part get his education in New York, but his stint in Italy likely broadened his perspective. In 1954, Milton Glaser founded Push Pin Studios where he worked with some of his peers from college ("Milton Glaser," 2005). Push Pin would use a variety of graphic techniques (Chwast, 2004). Then, almost two decades later in 1974, Glaser would open a studio called Milton Glaser, Inc. ("Milton Glaser," 2005).
