other revolutionary heroes. The following paper looks at the life and the significance, and contribution, of Samuel Adams. The Life and Significance of Samuel Adams Samuel Adams was
born in 1722 in Boston, Massachusetts (NNDB, 2009). His father was very active in politics at the time, and was apparently well off, thus giving Samuel a chance to be
exposed to many political and social realities of the time. Adams went on to graduate from Harvard and then "began the study of law in response to his fathers advice;
he discontinued it in response to his mothers disapproval" (NNDB, 2009). As mentioned in the introduction, the name Samuel Adams is often, today, associated with beer. Interestingly enough Samuel Adams
did try his hand at brewing but he was not successful. He also attempted to be successful in other business endeavors but those proved futile as well (NNDB, 2009). It
seems that he was constantly intrigued with politics and this often got in the way of any other success or focus and eventually he took to speaking in town meetings
and debating, which would become his career. He became very prominent in the community with the arrival of the Stamp Act "when as author of Bostons instructions to its
representatives in the general court of Massachusetts he urged strenuous opposition to taxation by act of parliament" (NNDB, 2009). It could be argued that this was his true beginning into
politics as he moved from one position in politics to another. He was seen as a man who was rather understated in his appearance and a man who could write
