Booker T. Washington was indeed an extraordinary man. The reason this man has remained such a historic focus is the impact of
his actions during his lifetime. He affected so many people, and those affects lasted well beyond his own lifetime. And yet, these accomplishments were the result of who
he was as a person; an extension of the thoughtful, inspired, assertive and forward-thinking man. Booker T. Washington was the
son of a slave, and as such, overcame significant barriers in his lifetime to become renown in the field of education (Perry). But these accomplishments did not come easily
for Washington, and he would endure much conflict and strife in his lifetime as well (Perry). Perhaps then, the best measure of Washingtons success and character comes to us
through understanding the way in which Washington responded to this conflict in his life (Perry). Washington was a Christian, and
it was his faith that often saw him through the tough times (Perry). This faith would see him through personal conflict as well as racial injustice and other prejudices
