the experience and the association that become attached as well as the way the skills are subsequently utilised. In considering a personal learning experience and the stages that were traversed
on that process this may then be considered for application to other scenarios, how it was tackled along with the internal processes that took place. For example, the learning of
new skills by those who are at risk of re-offending may be analysed against the practical understanding that is facilitated by this type of analysis. The desire to drive
in any teenager is one that is highly motivated. There are the visions of freedom, the ability to travel where you want when you want, the pleasures associated with the
freedom and the lack of parental control. However, for a teenager with many friends who drive and a lack of capital to fund the driving lessons, their are many restraining
forces. Knowing that I could still have the freedom with friends driving, escaping the yoke of parents whilst not having to worry about the cost of lessons or the upkeep
of a car was also attractive, and as such unlike many peers, I did not immediately learn to drive. I wanted to learn to drive, but it was one of
those things I never go around to. The situation changed, as friends moved away, gained commitments of their own or had other factors which prevented them from helping me out
the motivation increased. The final push was getting a job which was difficult to get to without my own transport. I decided to take the plunge and learn to drive.
