are apparently elements to his life and his work that are relatively little known. That is part of the focus of the book The Last Voyage of Columbus by Martin
Dugard. In this work the author sets out to illustrate some of the lesser known realities concerning Columbus and what was apparently his last voyage. The following essay presents a
review of the work. The Last Voyage of Columbus by Dugard In relationship to the reliability of the author, and the
authors legitimacy, it appears as though Dugard has written many different articles for various magazines, including Sports Illustrated and GQ (Simonoff, 2005; 44). He is also the author of
other works such as one that followed some of the career of Lance Armstrong, and a book on James Cook, another famous explorer. In one review the author notes that,
"Spurning views of Columbus as a harbinger of genocide, Dugard (Into Africa, etc.) senses virile, visionary boldness, a man fuelled by focus and challenge. Unsullied by too much modern scholarship,
this book is at heart a recasting of Washington Irving and Samuel Eliot Morison updated to appeal to readers of GQ and Sports Illustrated (for which Dugard has written)" (Simonoff,
2005; 44). In light of this information it appears as though Dugard is likely a very entertaining writer, but perhaps also a historical
writer who tries to appeal to the masses of modern society, not serious individuals who really want more accurate truth in their history. This is noted when one sees how
