of it as a conflict between different nations, whereas the English language itself defines war as a sustained campaign against crime and poverty. Before September 11, 2001, Afghanistan was going
through difficulties, but now, they are going through disaster due to the heavy bombardment proliferated by the United States of America. The governments politicians have manipulated English words in
order to justify their actions towards Afghanistan so they label it as a war against terrorism. Indeed, an anonymous article in the Monthly Review claims that the U.S. news media
have become agents of both militarist and imperialist propaganda ("After" 1). The idea that using propaganda or specialized rhetoric to justify
actions is not new. In fact, a student writing on this subject might want to use George Orwells Politics and the English Language. Orwell explains that in his time at
least, political speech and writing were primarily done to defend the indefensible (Orwell PG). He references the continuance of the British rule of India and the dropping of the bomb
on Japan (PG). He claims that " political language has to consist largely of euphemism., question-begging and sheer cloudy vagueness. Defenseless villages are bombarded from the air, the inhabitants driven
out into the countryside, the cattle machine-gunned, the huts set on fire with incendiary bullets: this is called pacification. Millions of peasants are robbed of their farms and sent trudging
