John Fitzgerald Kennedy is one of the more vividly remembered presidents in US history. The
reasons for the strong memories associated with the man are many. First, of course, Kennedy was assassinated. Unlike previous presidential assassinations in this country, however, Kennedys assassination was
caught on film. The electronic media, a relatively new advent in this country, played the horrendous minutes over and over to the point that it was forever etched into
the viewers memories. That footage, in fact, remains a vivid influence on the memories of practically every American even in contemporary times. Interestingly, Kennedys assassination represents a true
turning point in American history and ideology. It actually represents a turning point that we have never rebounded from. Kennedy, born in
1917, was only forty-six years old, when he was assassinated (Moss, 2010). He had served less than three years as president of the United States at the time of
his death. His assassination was not only one of the most disturbing in the history of this country, it is still an event which is steeped in controversy and
