some of the court cases that have been brought in regard to this issue. It argues in favor of school uniforms. Overview The issue of school uniforms in general falls in with a number of actions brought in regard to various putative First Amendment violations. They include not only matters pertaining to school uniforms, but clothing in general, hairstyles, t-shirts, and offensive language. The controversy centers around whether or not its constitutional to dictate what type of clothing students wear to school, and opinions on that vary.
