businesses. It is a very complex entity in this nation, and the world, and as such has affected culture in positive and negative ways. The following paper examines some of
the way sin which the Internet has reshaped American culture. The Internets Reshaping of Culture One of the most obvious ways in which the Internet has changed the
culture of the nation is that which involves various types of relationships. Most everyone knows someone who has met and started a relationship through the Internet, if they themselves have
not done so. People have become closer to one another, family members, through the ease of email and sending pictures through the Internet. People can even more easily connect with
others all around the world who share the same ideas and ideals. In so many ways it has brought the culture closer, and brought other cultures closer together with cultures
that were harder to access prior to the Internet. In truth the Internet has proven far more accessible for communication than the telephone and as such has created a different
sort of culture where communication is quicker and easier to do, thus bringing people closer in many ways. On the other hand the ease of use of the Internet
has also perhaps changed the culture and made people generally more distant with one another. For example, many marriages are threatened, or have been destroyed, through the Internet. Recently there
was a news story wherein the parents spent so much time on the Internet that they neglected their toddlers who were suffering from a lack of basic cleanliness and hunger.
